How to Get a Smart Transit Card
- Visit the website: https://goa.smarttransit.in
- Select the appropriate card user (Student/Senior citizen/General Card) and fill in the details to register.
- Pay the card issuance fee of Rs.150. Commuters will get a top-up of Rs.150 in the card to travel.
- Visit our authorized counter located at Panaji Bus Stand to collect the card.
- Provide a valid ID proof.
- You will receive a fully activated smart card ready to use.
How to Recharge and Top Up the Card
Online:
- Visit our website: https://goa.smarttransit.in
- Select “Recharge Card.”
- Enter the card number and choose the amount.
- Complete the payment using UPI, credit/debit cards, or net banking.
Top-Up:
- Visit our authorized counter located at Panaji Bus Stand.
- Tap in the ETIM machine (Recharge Card option) carried by the conductor.
- Don’t remove the card until the successful top-up message appears.
Why Tap the Card During Boarding and Alighting?
Passengers will board the bus and tap the card; the validator will check the card.
First Tap (Boarding):
- When you tap your card while boarding, the system deducts the maximum route fare of Rs. 25.
Second Tap (Alighting):
- The system calculates the actual fare for your journey based on the distance travelled (e.g., Rs. 15).
- The difference between the maximum fare (Rs. 25) and the actual fare (Rs. 15) is refunded to your card balance.
Example:
- Initial Deduction: Rs. 25 (on first tap).
- Actual Fare: Rs. 15.
- Refund to Card: Rs. 25 - Rs. 15 = Rs. 10.
How to Use the Smart Card
Boarding:
- Tap your card on the card reader near the entrance.
- Wait for the beep and confirmation voice to proceed.
During Travel:
- Keep your card safely with you.
Alighting:
- Tap your card on the reader near the exit to complete your trip.
- Wait for the beep and confirmation voice to proceed.
- The fare will be automatically deducted from your balance.
